The Mental Doorway

The act of walking through a door gives us a tactile cue that we are making a transition. We are moving between two physical spaces and in many cases making a mental transition as well. Think about the feeling of when you finally get home at the end of a long day at work. As the physical space changes so follows our attitude.


Become intentional about resetting your mindset before you enter any space. Mentally prepare for what you want to accomplish, who you want to be in that arena. Tell yourself "I am the type of person that...when I am here" I am the type of person who seeks to listen more, and speak less." "I am the type of person that tries new things and takes risks."


We set ourselves up for success; we control the outcomes in our lives; but only when we take an active role in framing our mindset. Use physical cues to reset, reframe, and be who you want to be.
