Like the outcome, LOVE the work.

"Goals provide direction, clarity, they work as a filter" so we can prioritize our lives.

Ultimately the winners and losers often have the same goals. Olympians presumably, when they line up to race all have to goal to win the Gold medal. "It's not the goal that separates them it's the system that they follow."

"Goals are important for knowing where you want to go, and what you want to achieve. When it comes to actually executing, we rarely rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our system and the environment that we create.

What is your goal? That is your target, it's the outcome you're chasing.

What is your system? It's the collection of habits that you follow. Each little habit is like a gear in the overall machine." ~ James Clear author of Atomic Habits (summarized from an oral interview)

Do your habits fit together like a fine Swiss watch? When we apply our hearts towards the processes that lead to our goals, we build beautiful machines more capable than we ever imagined. He or she with the best habits usually wins.

There are a lot of words that outline a very basic point. Apply yourself to creating excellent habits and the results will follow.
